Navigating Life's Chaos: The Reality of Being a Comedian in the U.S. and Staying True to Myself

Some days, you just need a breath of fresh air. That was me yesterday. Life has been crazy, with so much going on around me that I felt overwhelmed. Being a comedian in the U.S. brings its own set of challenges, and sometimes taking a step back and just breathing is necessary. It’s easy to get caught up in everything when things feel chaotic, but I’ve learned that staying grounded and focused on what matters most is key to surviving the madness.

Love Life and the Power of Being Real

When it comes to my love life, it’s never been a straight or narrow path. Certain women try to manipulate me with subliminal messages, thinking I won’t notice. But trust me, I see it. Being a comedian in the U.S. means dealing with all sorts of people, and I’m not the type to sit back and let things slide. If I feel like something is directed at me, I’ll address it head-on. No games, no second-guessing—I believe in being real with each other.

At the end of the day, real recognizes real. If someone chooses to walk out of my life, that’s on them. I’ve learned that sometimes, people leave for reasons that have nothing to do with me. It took time to understand that, but once I did, I stopped chasing after anyone who didn’t want to stay. If you choose to leave, “stay there.” I’ve got no room in my life for fake love, fake women, or fake friends.

No Room for Fake Love or Fake Friends

Over the years, I’ve made a lot of sacrifices—sacrifices of time, energy, and love for people who, in the end, didn’t value me the way I valued them. Whether it was for women, family, or even friends, I’ve given my unconditional love, my energy, and sometimes even put my career on hold just to make others feel important. Being a comedian in the U.S. means juggling so many things, but what did I get in return? A lot of times, I ended up feeling like I wasn’t enough or like I didn’t matter.

But that’s behind me now. I’ve come to realize that I deserve more. I deserve to be happy, appreciated, loved, respected, and valued—just like anyone else. If you’re not bringing that real energy into my life, then I don’t need you in my circle. I’ve cleared out space, not just physically but emotionally, for the people who truly see me for who I am and bring the same love and respect I give them.

The Weight of Sacrifice: Time, Love, and Career

Sacrificing for others is one thing, but sacrificing for the wrong people is draining. I’ve sacrificed so much of my time—time I could have spent focusing on my goals or investing in myself. Being a comedian in the U.S. means giving a lot of yourself to others, but I’ve poured my love into relationships that didn’t reciprocate, and I’ve given my energy to people who didn’t deserve it.

Sometimes, it felt like the more I gave, the less I got back. I would invest myself into someone’s life, helping them grow, supporting them through their struggles, only to end up feeling empty when they walked away or showed their true colors. But those experiences taught me a valuable lesson: I can’t be everything to everyone. I have to prioritize myself, my happiness, and my success.

I Deserve Happiness and Real Love

At this point in my life, I refuse to settle for anything less than what I deserve. I deserve to be happy, to be appreciated, to be loved, and to be respected. These aren’t luxuries—they’re necessities. Being a comedian in the U.S. has taught me that if someone can’t give me those things, then they have no place in my life.

I used to think that sacrificing my own needs for others was a noble thing to do. But over time, I realized that by putting myself last, I was teaching others to do the same. Not anymore. I’m making space for the people who see my worth and reciprocate the love and respect I give. Those are the people who will be a part of my future.

Moving Forward: Staying Focused on My Path

Life may still be crazy, and I’m sure there will be more challenges ahead, but I’m not letting that stop me from becoming the best version of myself. Being a comedian in the U.S. has shown me that real recognizes real, and I’m surrounding myself with people who value authenticity and aren’t afraid to be genuine. If that means letting some people go, so be it. I have no room for fake love or energy that doesn’t serve me.

As I move forward, I’m focused on living my truth and staying true to myself. I’ve worked too hard to give in to distractions or let others pull me off course. I know what I deserve, and I won’t stop until I’ve built the life that reflects that.
